The Fundamentals of Caring Storyline: A writer (Paul Rudd) retires after a personal tragedy and becomes a disabled teen's caregiver. When the two embark on an impromptu road trip, their ability to cope is tested as they start to understand the importance of hope and friendship. Genre: The genre for the film ‘ The fundamentals of Caring ` is a comedy/drama. We know this because although Trever ( Craig Roberts ) is fighting a tough disorder, the film remains happy and jokey. I think the producer has done this so that it brightens up the mood and makes it not too sad and depressing.
